It is Sunday, August 31st, 2025… at 5:30 pm.
This morning… in Average Joes Basketball League action… at Trexler Middle School… located in Allentown, PA… Members Only defeated Team BeLeaf…. in an entertaining, exciting, and fun game.
I played in the game.

Ten years ago today… on August 31st, 2015… I started this blog.
On that morning… I had a feeding tube in my stomach… I was taking a lot of medication… and I was too weak to even get out of bed.
I could not play in any games.
…
As a lifelong multi-sport athlete… I have played… in a lot of games.
After preparing for, playing in, and thinking about the game today… I have an unquantifiable amount of gratitude… for still being alive, still being healthy, and now competing… ten years after I began documenting… what I thought was about to be… my death.
Life… what a game.

Today… the basketball game was the first of 8… in the Average Joes Basketball League regular season.
I am looking forward to preparing for, playing in, and thinking about the next game… and the rest of the games during the regular season… while simultaneously preparing for new entertainment, new excitement, and new fun.
Life… is good.
